Murata offers a MLCC in a 008004 package size with a capacitance of 0.1µF for compact electronic devices, such as 5G smartphones and wearables

Murata Electronics has claimed the GRM011R60J104M multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) is the industry’s first that features a maximum capacitance of 0.1 µF in a 008004 (0.25 × 0.125 mm) package. Available now, the MLCC is suited for compact electronic devices, such as 5G smartphones and wearables, that call for smaller and higher density circuitry.

The GRM011R60J104M is built on Murata’s proprietary ceramic and electrode material atomization and homogenization technology, enabling the size reduction – about half the size and volume that is about 80% smaller than capacitors in a 01005 package. It also offers nearly 10 times the capacity of similarly-sized products, according to Murata.

Other key features include a capacitance tolerance of ±20 percent, and rated voltage of 6.3 Vdc. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 85°C.
