In this training, we discuss the theory behind slew rate, compare the slew rate and current consumption of different TI amplifiers and their effect on full power bandwidth. We’ll also take a look at settling time and the role played by slew boost, discuss the differences between an amplifier’s small-signal vs. large-signal step response and relate small-signal step response to stability. We take a deeper look at the transition from small signal rise time to a large signal output response, and discuss how gain impacts small signal and large signal output response.
